The China-Italy Science, Technology and Innovation Week 2017 took place in China from November 13th  to 18th  2017, this year the event was held in Beijing (from November 13th to 15th  ), in the presence of the University and Research Minister Valeria Fedeli and the Chinese Science and Technology Minister Wan Gang, followed by two dates in Chengdu (November 16th), – an important economic center and an essential place for transportation and communication – and in Guiyang ( November 17th – 18th ) – an excellence in the big data sector, in the province of Guizhou.

The “Science, Technology and Innovation China-Italy Week 2017” is the largest event dedicated to internationalization and scientific, technological and commercial exchange between the world of research and the Italian and Chinese business and includes in a one program the two main Sino-Italian events on science, technology and innovation: the China-Italy Innovation Forum (8th edition) and the Sino-Italian Exchange Event (11th edition).

A week entirely dedicated to scientific and technological exchange activities between the operators of the two countries, aimed at creating technological, productive and commercial partnerships in innovative research-business contexts. A successful format that in recent years has encouraged the birth of 80 projects between Italy and China and, only in the last edition, has registered over 1500 Italian participants and over 650 Chinese ones, offering the possibility of about 600 one-to-one meetings in order to explore new opportunities for cooperation.

The initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Education, University and Research-MIUR in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation-MAECI, and is coordinated by Città della Scienza of Naples.

È realizzata in sinergia con il Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico, il Ministero della Salute e il Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare ed in collaborazione con il Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche–CNR, Cluster Tecnologici Nazionali, Confindustria e con le principali Università e Centri di Ricerca Italiani, con il supporto dell’Ambasciata d’Italia e la rete consolare italiana in Cina e il Centro di Trasferimento Tecnologico Italia-Cina-CITTC, e infine con la Regione Campania per il Sino-Italian Exchange Event.

Un grande contributo al successo dell’edizione 2017 è stato inoltre dato dall’Ambasciata Italiana in Cina, il Consolato di Chongqing e la rete degli Addetti Scientifici.

Da parte cinese, l’iniziativa è promossa dal Ministero della Scienza e della Tecnologia con il supporto dell’Ambasciata della Repubblica Popolare Cinese in Italia ed è coordinata, per quanto riguarda il Forum (CIIF), dal Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission in collaborazione con il China-Italy Technology Transfer Center-CITTC e per le tappe territoriali di Chengdu e Guiyang con il Chengdu Municipal People’s Governmentil Sichuan Province Science and Technology Department e con il Guiyang Municipal People’s Government.

It is realized in synergy with the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of the Territory and the Sea and in collaboration with the National Research Council-CNR, National Technological Clusters, Confindustria and with the main Italian Universities and Research Centers, with the support of the Italian Embassy and the Italian consular network in China and the Italy-China-CITTC Technology Transfer Center, and finally with the Campania Region for the Sino-Italian Exchange Event.

An important contribution to the success of the 2017 edition was also given by the Italian Embassy in China, the Chongqing Consulate and the network of Scientific Attachés.

On the Chinese side, the initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Science and Technology with the support of the Embassy of the Popular  Chinese Republic in Italy and is coordinated, as regards the Forum (CIIF), by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission in collaboration with the China-Italy Technology Transfer Center-CITTC and for the territorial stages of Chengdu and Guiyang with the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, the Sichuan Province Science and Technology Department and with the Guiyang Municipal People’s Government.

A meaningful moment was that of the ceremony of the China-Italy Maker Space (CIMS) in the presence of Ministers Valeria Fedeli and Wan Gang on November 14th  in Beijing. The China-Italy Maker Space aims to provide services for business creation, innovation, international technology transfer, meetings with financial operators and more generally to promote an ecosystem that entrepreneurship.
