On 19 December 2016 it was held at the Fazio Hall of the Ministry of Education, University and Research, the meeting of the Italy-China Coordination Committee. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the outcomes of the 2016 edition of the  Italy-China Science, Technology & Innovation Week and the main point of the 2017 strategy.

Many representatives from several ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea, as well as Confindustria and the main research institutes and Italian universities, attended the meeting.

The meeting started with a speech delivered by the Director of Office VII of the Ministry of Education, University and Research Fabrizio Cobis, who reported the satisfaction of the whole Ministry regarding the success of the event, highlighting the qualifying aspects and the main output of the event, also reporting the assessment of the various aspects of the event.

Vincenzo Lipardi presented the strategy for the 2017 program, referring in particular to the mission in China of the National Technological Cluster, to the startups and to the exchange of students. He also highlighted the guidelines for the organization of the next edition of the China-Italy Science, Technology & Innovation Week that will be held in China next Autumn.

Gianluigi Benedetti, Diplomatic Advisor of the Minister of Education, University and Research, highlighted the strategic importance of the internationalization program, emphasizing its impact on the relations between the two countries and in building a common strategy for the cooperation of both governments in science and technology fields.

The discussion continued with a round table, where all the attendees took the floor not only commenting the results of the 2016 edition and the future prospects, such as the mission in China of the National Technological Cluster planned for May 2017, but also presenting interesting ideas to strengthen the program.
