This morning we inaugurated the BIKE LAB a new space open to the public where citizens who have chosen the bicycle as a tool for urban mobility, where it will be possible to find advice and technical assistance on everything concerning the world on bicycle.The Bike Lab in collaboration with Europe Direct of the Municipality of Naples, in addition to direct services and assistance, aims to spread European incentive policies to the use of solutions for sustainable mobility, especially towards young people and off-site.
The space is also equipped with an open and freely usable bicycle workshop, where it will be possible to provide for the maintenance of your bike, as well as participate in free seminars on the basic notions of bike maintenance and its correct use.
The objectives of the Bike Lab also include the dissemination of bike to work practices, which make Città della Scienza increasingly accessible in a sustainable and above all bike friendly way, with parking areas for bikes in special racks for students, visitors and workers , for the latter it will also be possible to take a free trial bike provided by the company.
The Bike Lab represents a first little preview of #Bikeit, the great international exhibition on the history, technology and future of the bicycle, created for the celabration of its bicentennial, which from the end of June will be hosted in Città della Scienza as the only Italian stop. The inauguration was attended by Mario Calabrese, Councilor for Infrastructure and Transport of the City of Naples, Luca Simeone Project manager Città della Scienza, Michele Buonomo of Legambiente Campania and Ginevra Marandola Researcher at the European Commission’s Joint Research Center.
