From the ancient astronomical observatories to modern instruments: at Science Centre will alternate astronomical observations with Planetarium shows, experiments with ancient instruments and performances of scientific theatre.

A wide selection of scientific craft markets will fill up the Science Centre. Come and watch the craftsmen at work and learn the scientific manufacturing processes at the bottom of matters’ handling.

THE BANGERS CHEMISTRY
Behind bangers and fireworks there are complex chemical reactions. At the Chemistry Bar we will investigate combustions and explosions with the assistance of artificers.

“HISTORY OF TECHNOLOGY”
Discover the manufacturing of stones and metals through a theatrical performance about the history of technology, from ancient times to the modern world of nanotechnologies. Experiments and actors will help you to understand the development of techniques and technologies.

DOOMSDAY: THE PROPHECIES NEVER COME TRUE
An excursus between play and science on various wrong prophecies of worldwide disasters in the light of the newest astrophysics knowledge.

Friday, January 6
THE GREAT FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY!
A party with scientific animation and tasting of folk sweets. A scientific focus on the properties of gold, incense and myrrh. At the Planetarium will be shown the play “La Stella di Betlemme” (The Star of Bethlehem).

During the Christmas Season, Città della Scienza will be always open from December 20 to January 8, with the exceptions of December, 25^th and January, 1^st.
