Over 15.000teachers, students, researchers and families took part in the 33rd edition of Futuro Remoto Essere 4.0, entirely dedicated to the theme of the technological transformation of society and industry of the future.

The event ended with the original show, the Fisica Sognante, an absolutely new way of presenting physics to the general public: through juggling. On stage, in fact, the professor – juggler-actor Federico Benuzzi has fascinated boys and adults highlighting the connections between physics and juggling, alternating spectacular technical performances and choreography with immediate and light scientific explanations.

Also this year Futuro Remoto the msot important science festival has been a great event for everybody: researchers, teachers, scientists and children, families and enthusiasts have populated Città della Scienza spaces creating a unique opportunity for direct comparison between research and great audience.

The 9 themes of the 2019 edition – Aerospace, Agrifood and Green Chemistry, Environments of Life, Energy and a Sea of Resources, Intelligent Factory, Design and Creativity and Made in Italy, Cultural heritage, Life Sciences, Smart communities – have been addressed in the most diverse and engaging ways: conferences, workshops, debates, demonstrations and a great exhibition, Essere 4.0 Expo, to understand the transformations of the present and the prospects of an increasingly near future, which will see robots alongside human work.

The President of Città della Scienza Prof. Riccardo Villari said: “Futuro Remoto continues and is renewed, 33 years represent a long history, which presupposes deep roots. Città della Scienza grew around the visionary idea of Vittorio Silvestrini of Futuro Remoto, which was the first science festival. Today, the objective and mission of Città della scienza is renewed, which is to spread knowledge, science and its progress, in a confrontation in which there is no passive subject and in which the visitor and the student directly confront the scientist and the expert in a path where everyone is a protagonist and this is very stimulating ”.

Futuro Remoto was created thanks to the contribution and support of the Campania Region and with the co-organization of the Universities of Campania and in partnership with national research centers with their territorial networks, including INAF, INFN, the CNR, with CEINGE and many other representatives of the world of science and innovation culture.

But Futuro Remoto 2019 does not end here: it continues with the Extra program appointments, an extension of the event, including the conference of the Nobel Prize Gerard Mourou, the French physicist who won the Nobel Prize for physics in 2018, which on November 30 at 6.00 pm will meet the public at the Città della Scienza Planetarium. The event curated by Città della Scienza and the Institut Français Italia, is part of the cycle of meetings promoted by Insitut entitled ” Mondo Macchina Mondo Mondo “, aimed at deepening the dialogue between France and Italy on the challenges of the future, between engineering, ethics and society. The Extra 4.0 Expo is also part of the exhibition, which will be open until 12 January. An interactive walk through the ideas and applications of industry 4.0, which tells the key concepts through a collection of exhibits from research centers, industries, laboratories. It is realized through a participatory planning process that involved, in 6 months of work, over 15 research institutes and 80 researchers and researchers, this suggestive narrative aims to stimulate reflections and trigger insights on how industry 4.0 can be made of technologies “around “To humans, and not as a substitute for human beings. The installation is divided into 5 paths, real paths, assuming as a metaphor – even exhibition – that of the “walk in the woods” to talk about: Collaboration, Integration, Efficiency, Body and Memory.
