Talking about… heat and temperature! June 2nd and 3rd

Physics discovering daily life

The temperature these days is growing more and more. We all feel warm and sweat. When, how and why do we feel hot? What is the relationship between heat and temperature? We will answer these and  other curiosities on thermodynamics, but we will do it in our own way, with many fun and engaging workshops, lots of practical demonstrations, experiments and fun games. If science blazes you, do not miss the weekend of 2-3 June 2018!We are waiting for you! Check the program!

And it is right during the summer that we often hear about perceived temperatures, thermometers, maximums, minimums … did you know that the strategies implemented by the thermos to avoid exchanging heat are the same as those used by our bodies? With “Hot”, through simple experiments, you will have the opportunity to find out what the temperature is, what is meant by perceived temperature and much more! Do not miss!

The impact that the sight of a color implies in the human mind is something very particular: according to the nuances we find ourselves, in fact, we can feel more cheerful, sad, more motivated or more depressed. This happens because our brain, without realizing it, associates the colors we see with the feelings and moods we have experienced in the past. Although everyone can have different reactions to a certain color, there are shades that, generally, are classified according to their “temperature”, ie depending on the type of emotion that manages to evoke in our mind. So what are the warm colors and which are the cold ones? How do they match each other? Let’s find out together with – The “temperature” of the colors - and build a nice stamped stamp with the color that most excites you!

Apart from mammals and birds, called homeotherms because they can regulate their body temperature keeping it constant when the outside temperature changes, almost all the other animals can be considered cold blood (ectotherms), with body temperature, in conditions of rest , similar to the environmental one. To carry out the vital activities many of them must warm up their bodies finding solutions to raise the temperature. And yet, while in the most evolved species the sex of individuals is determined at conception by the combination of genes (genotypic determination), in some other species it is the environment in which the embryo develops to determine whether an individual will be born male or female. Learn more about these topics with “In Cold Blood”. In thermodynamics, the calorie is a unit of measurement of energy and heat. How is it related to our energy needs? How many calories do we have to take every day? How do we distribute them during the day? What is the most important meal? And the most abundant one? Schedule your typical day with “Heat, calories and energy needs”.

Technology is the future! By integrating new technologies with good manual skills, discover with your parents “Nintendo Labo”: a new piece of cardboard in something different, a motorbike, a fishing rod, a plane or whatever comes to mind! Then, add a Nintendo Switch  console to bring them to life and enjoyment is guaranteed! Win a race, catch a fish, play … With Nintendo Labo, everyone can experience the joy of building, playing and discovering. Have fun watching your creations: you could even invent new ways to play with Toy-Con! Visit the exhibition dedicated to the sea! Find out which new fish, molluscs and crustaceans live in our tanks following the guided tour “Marine Ecosystems”. During the guide, you will have the opportunity to caress some marine organisms in our Touch pool. What an emotion! For the little ones, “Create your marine animals“, a laboratory where fish shapes are colored, inventing new species, and then, as for “magic”, make them appear and swim in a large virtual aquarium. BIT is back the most exhibit loved by adults and children! BIT! You do not know him? Come and meet him, he will answer all your scientific curiosities and not only … Where have you been in this time? What adventures will he tell you? Do not miss this appointment with “Talk to BIT”. Take part in the guided tour by “Bugs & CO”, the new exhibition space dedicated to the spectacular world of insects and more. For every man on Earth there are over 150 million insects. “The six-legged giants” have conquered almost all the habitats of our planet …. it’s time to start getting to know them better. Beyond the visits they guide a Corporea, the first interactive museum on the Human Body in Italy, the 2D show “From the Earth to the Universe – From the Earth to the Universe” to discover the most important theories elaborated by man during the time in the astronomical field up to the future perspectives, and for 3D lovers, “Robot Explorers” is waiting for you to travel together, lander and orbiter inside our solar system. Come and discover the rich program! We are waiting for you in many!
