On June 2, in Toulouse (France), under the annual conference of ECSITE, the European network of science centres and science museums, was signed the agreement for the creation of a Summer School for Scientific Communication in the Euro-Mediterranean and Middle-East area.
The agreement provides for cooperation between NAMES (North Africa and Middle East Science centers), ECSITE and some of their members: Città della Scienza of Naples, Biblioteca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Centre, Scientific Center of Kuwait, the Science Museum of Trento, Consorcio Parque de las Ciencias of Granada, the Natural History Museum of Londra and Universcience and Universcience Partenaires of Parigi. It includes the first edition of the Summer School in autumn 2013.
The main objectives of this project are to consolidate the efforts of existing science centers and to support the development of new projects of scientific communication in the Mediterranean and Middle-East area.
