On Thursday 10 November a high-level delegation from the Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park came to visit Città della Scienza, that is one of the most relevant technological parks in China. The Park covers a 14 sq.km area, it hosts more than 2.500 Chinese and foreign enterprises that work in the high tech field and in the last thirty years of activities it has developed and consolidated a big network in the whole world. The Park’s main activity sectors are IT, Biotechnologies, New Materials, Automation, Clean Energy and other innovative sectors.
After the welcome addresses, both parts have shared the main lines of cooperation that aim at strengthening the relationship among the Shanghai area and Città della Scienza, particularly in terms of cooperation on startups as well as on digital fabrication, as demonstrated by the strong interest of the Chinese delegation in the D.RE.A.M Fablab of Città della Scienza. Moreover, it emerged a strong willingness in building solid cooperation between the Shanghai Caihejing Hi-Tech Park and the EBN-European Business Network, of which Mr. Vincenzo Lipardi is member of the Board of Directors.
According to the schedule of the meeting, the Chinese delegation visited the spaces of Città della Scienza: the BIC Business Innovation Centre (particularly, some innovative start-ups, for instance Techno Inn), Casa Cina, where the International Technology Transfer Centre is headquartered, and finally the D.RE.A.M. – Digital and Research in Advanced Manufacturing FabLab, where all ongoing activities have been introduced, raising a particular interest in the possibility of involving Chinese participants in the D.RE.A.M. Academy, that will start in the beginning of 2017.
