Tuesday 29 October: Information Day of the European research Council

The European Research Council (ERC) funds the very best, creative scientists in the field of fundamental research.

Through competitive funding, the ERC helps researchers to bring about unpredictable scientific discoveries and address challenges such as climate change, smart and green transport, public health and inclusive societies.

More than 200 ERC grantees are based in Italy and around 150 Italian ERC grantees work abroad. Meet some of them and find out more about their excellent research project at Città della Scienza!

Public session in the morning (in Italian) from 9.30 to 13.00 .
High level personalities including Italian Minister of Education, University and Research Maria Chiara Carrozza and ERC President Helga Nowotny will discuss the current situation and the future of excellent research in Italy and in Europe.
Several ERC grantees will present their project and you will have the opportunity to discuss with them during a networking session. Interesting and surprising research material will be exhibited, notably robots.

Information session for researchers in the afternoon from 14.30 to 16.00.
In the afternoon, an information session on ERC funding opportunities will be organised for researchers (in English).  The purpose of the session will be to present the various ERC funding schemes and the application process. In order to make sure the participation will match the expected level of discussion, the researcher should hold at least a PhD. The registration for this session is compulsory (see form below)

A press conference will be organised at 11.00 in the Saffo Room of the conference centre.
