The Academy in Design and Research in Advanced Manufacturing is an advanced training program experimented for the first time by Città della Scienza in 2017. This is an 8-month course, in which lectures on the topics of advanced manufacturing and computational design, specific assignments were added to the students. Each of them was selected based on their own research project which was then able to implement, with the necessary corrective measures, in the last 3 months of the program.

14 students attended the Academy coming from Italy, China and Iran, in line with the internationalization activities where Città della Scienza is involved towards the two Asian countries. In addition to the FabLab staff. The faculty involved 14 international professors from all over Europe as well as from India and the United States.

With the Academy, Città della Scienza intends to contribute concretely to the training of professionals and companies on the themes of Industry 4.0, in line with the National Research Plan 2015/2020, the Smart Specialization Strategy of Campania and the Network 4.0 which is being built around the Digital Business Points, Digital Innovation Hubs and Competence Centers.
