Farewell to Italian music director Claudio Abbado

Italian music director and senator for life Claudio Abbado, aged 80, has passed away. Abbado was music and artistic director of the most important world orchestras, from La Scala in Milan to the Wiener and Berliner Philharmoniker, up to the Mozart Orchesta of Bologna. Claudio Abbado joined in 2013 the comittee founded by Nobel laureate Carlo Rubbia for supporting the reconstruction of Città della Scienza’s science centre, after the fire of March 4. Città della Scienza wants to express its grief for the passing of such a prominent personality of the Italian culture.
