Luigi Amodio, general director of Fondazione Idis-Città della Scienza of Naples, has been designed as ECSITE board member during the annual conference in Portugal at the Natural History Museum of Porto, the European network of Scientific Communication Institues gathering museums, science centres, universities, research centres and foundations.
This election of Luigi Amodio, member of the Kuratorium del Deutsches Museum di Monaco di Baviera, colsed the 2017 ECSITE edition counting 1,000 delegates from 450 scientific institutions; and signed an important step  for the international active work of Città della Scienza.

Amodio‘s commitment for the next two years in the board of the ECSITE network – which includes directors from other prestigious institutions such as the Villette of Paris, the Toulouse Space City, the Warsaw and Copenhagen Museums – will be to accentuate the The role of museums and science centers on the great global goals related to the development of scientific and technological research, as well as representing the Italian scientific culture in the international community.
