During his visit to Naples, the Ambassador of France Alain Le Roy, together with the Consul Christian Thimonier, have visited Città della Scienza.
The Director Luigi Amodio and the Head of International Relations Anne-Marie Bruyas, had welcome him and guided him among the exhibitions at the science Centre, including the temporary exhibition on the Space “Futuro Remoto”. The visit was an opportunity to inform the Ambassador about the projects that Città della Scienza, for years, carries out in collaboration with several French institutions, such as Universcience, the main public institution of scientific culture that gathers the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie and the Palais de la Découverte.
The Ambassador expressed a strong interest in concurring in the first edition of the Summer School that will be held in Naples in September 2013. Infact Città della Scienza is promoting together with Universcience, the networks Ecsite (European Network of Science centers and science museums) and NAMES (North Africa and Middle East Science Centre Network), a school for training young professionals in the field of science communication in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
The Ambassador confirmed that this project fits fully into the policy promoted by Italy and France to build the Mediterranean Union and recently re-launched in Lyon in the meeting between the French President Hollande and the Italian President Monti.
The Ambassador visited also the Incubator of Città della Scienza where he met some companies, such as for example Oceanix and Abstract, that keep important industrial relations with counterparts companies in France.
