The World Science Day for Peace and Development, sponsored by UNESCO, is celebrated every year on November 10 to address the role of science as a factor of peace as well as social and economic development for society. Government organizations and non-local authorities, scientific institutions, universities, schools, the media are encouraged to organize events to celebrate the “World Science Day”.
As a part of the program of “Futuro Remoto”, the annual event of science popularization dedicated each year to a specific theme (the 2014 theme is “The Sea”), the day will be an opportunity to meet the migrant communities and to discuss about the issues of travel and integration.
Italian writer Erri De Luca will meet the public with a reading from his works, while institutions, organizations, associations and NGOs will have the opportunity to show their experiences and projects in a poster session.
