Snow and its white color are the symbol of the winter season. This weekend on the occasion of the World Snow Day celebrated on January 17th, in Città della Scienza there will be many laboratories about water cycle with fun insights on the snow and ice that characterize the coldest season of the year! Come and discover the program to learn by playing and having fun!
Young scientists can experience “Traveling with a drop of water“, a path dedicated to the water cycle, to the recognition of the different “forms” of water, its properties and how they change according to different states.
“Thunderstorm activity”: Lightning strikes are fascinating phenomena that are seen, felt and for some people are also scary; sometimes they can cause death. Let’s know them deeply. Have fun embodying a modern “Jupiter” and make a thunder appearing in the palm of your hand, building a projector that turns the image into a 3D thunder.
Doors, walls, windows and windows: even the house dresses in winter! Take part in the “Snowflakes” a creative workshop and make one to take home! You will find in this lab that more than 3000 different ice crystals have been classified!
Only for Sunday 14, for the little ones, “The animals of the ice” – find out what the animals are living on the ice and what adaptations they have put in place to survive at low temperatures. Play a glacial environment and have fun, with imagination, to populate it in a nice 3D collage.
Do not lose the emotion of being a paleoanthropologist through the discovery of Otzi – a perfectly preserved mummy re-emerged in the ice of the Alps, throwing light on the habits of the Neolithic men with the workshop “Otzi – The Mummy of the Ice“.
Finally, “Science in a staple” – a workshop to learn fun issues about snow and its mode of training and reproduce an artificial snowman.
Besides the guided tours of Corporea, the first interactive museum on the Human Body in Italy, Planetarium shows are available: the 2D shows “From the Earth to the Universe” of the new Planetarium are waiting for a wonderful journey from the first theories of Greek philosophers to the most modern telescopes and “Robot Explorers” to travel with probes, landers and orbiters in our solar system.
“Who lives in the new house of insects?” – visite guided to the discovery of new guests. You will learn about the giant Heteropterix dilatata, the wonderful African dry mantis and the African mantis stick.
