Europe’s first interactive museum on the human body. An extraordinary journey dedicated to learning about it.
100 EXHIBITS, SENSORY EXPERIENCES, WORKSHOPS AND HANDS-ON EXPERIMENTS! Corporea is the first interactive museum in Europe entirely dedicated to the theme of health, biomedical science and technology, and prevention, based on direct experimentation of phenomena by visitors.
5,000 sq. m DEDICATED TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HUMAN BODY Corporea, which is spread over more than 5,000 sq. m. of floor space, is a pathway dedicated to deepening knowledge about the human body and biomedical sciences, but also an active place in the field of health promotion, healthy lifestyles as well as scientific and technological research.
A tour itinerary (in Italian, English and Chinese) that winds through 14 thematic islands dedicated to the different systems of the body, with a focus on behaviors that affect our health: “The Value of Prevention” is a theme that runs through the entire exhibition crosswise.
Between one exhibition island and another are rest areas – multifunctional spaces dedicated to rest, dialogue, play, meeting and reflection – and open labs, where experts, university researchers and research centers will present scientific experiments to the public on the topics of health and our bodies.
But Corporea is also a journey through time, linking past and future in a single thread: in fact, the 14 thematic islands with interactive exhibits will be enriched by a double and original counterpoint: on the one hand beautiful archaeological and historical artifacts, from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and the main museums in Campania, relevant to the different thematic areas, and on the other hand the new frontier of digital manufacturing, with a 3D printer for the realization of some anatomical files and the exhibition of totally 3D printed objects including prostheses, a neonatal incubator and some objects of medical use.
