“Digital twins” through virtual reality — copies of products, environments, people, industrial processes — are a major technological innovation. Digital twins are proving to be the backbone of the future metaverse and fulfill the dream of creating immersive virtual worlds completely similar to the real world. One example is NaOasi, a 3D virtual environment that imagines the future transformation of the San Giovanni a Teduccio waterfront.
