Call resource for simultaneous Italian/Chinese and Chinese/Italian interpreting activities

The Fondazione IDIS – Città della Scienza has issued a call for applications to join the Foundation’sSpecialist and TechnicalSkills Register for the performance of Italian/Chinese/Italian simultaneous interpreting activities to be carried out as part of the Italy-China Week of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The Foundation was looking for- for self-employment collaborations, preferably with VAT number, for the days of November 26 and 28, 2024, of 6 professional figures for the activities of simultaneous Italian/Chinese and Chinese/Italian interpreting within the 13th edition of the Italy-China Week of Science, Technology and Innovation – China-Italy Innovation Forum. The activity will be carried out at Città della Scienza, Naples on November 26 and at the Scientific Campus of Ca’ Foscari University, Venice on November 28.
The call was aimed at the selection of candidates enrolled in the Foundation’s Specialized and Technical Skills Register at the following area A.10 – Translation and Interpreting with at least senior level (5 to 9 years of experience), having proven work experience as Chinese/Italian or Italian/Chinese simultaneous interpreter (with possible presentation of a portfolio of assignments) in the last 5 years.

Preferred requirements:
– native Chinese speaker;
– bachelor’s degree in interpreting and translation (or equivalent) or professionalizing master’s degree;
– previous experience in science and innovation and Sino-Italian cooperation in these areas.

Certified that two applications were received in response to the call admitted to the Roll: Drs. Fei Xu and Serena Hu, from the ‘drawing of resources registered in the Roll of Specialized and Technical Skills, at class A.10 starting with the senior level having the requirements in the call, Drs. Jing Wang, Tipà Ilaria, Hsiao Nai Yen, Xu Fei and Dr. Massimo Zong De Santis were found to be eligible for the skills resulting from work experience in simultaneous interpretation, and in addition Dr. Serena Hu, junior level .
