On Tuesday, January 31st , a delegation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Dr. Khosro Piri, General Director of Technological Affairs of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Prof. Mohammad Saleh Owlia, Rector of Yazd University and Dr. Farid Moore, President of the Fars Scientific and Technological Park officially visited Città della Scienza.

Subject of the meeting was the discussion for the organization of the first edition of the Iran-Italy Science, Technology & Innovation Forum to be held in Tehran next April 19th and 20th, as a stable platform of exchange for the internationalization of academic, scientific and entrepreneurial systems with a strong innovative characterization, active in Italy and Iran, in the field of science, technology and innovation. A new era of relations between Italy and Iran has been recently opened following the removal of the sanctions and the gradual return of commercial trade, creating new opportunities for Italian and Iranian companies and on the occasion of the visit to Rome by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani in January 2016 when it was agreed a roadmap for the cooperation between the two countries on political aspects, economic, cultural and scientific field.

The meeting was attended by the leading representatives of the national institutions that will work on the organization of the Forum: Fabrizio Cobis, Director Office VII of the Ministry of Education, Vincenzo Lipardi, Secretary General of Città della Scienza, Valeria Fascione, Councillor for Internationalization, Innovation and Startup of Campania Region, Nicoletta Amodio of the Innovation and Education Area of Confindustria, Mario Malinconico of National Research Council, Gaetano Maron as delegate of the President of INFN. After the meeting, the delegation visited the exhibition area of Città della Scienza, the Incubator, the Office of Internationalization “Casa Cina”, the D.RE.A.M. FabLab and the upcoming Interactive Museum on Human Body “Corporea” which will be officially inaugurated next March 4,2017.
