International Day for Biological Diversity | 25 and 26 May 2019

At the sound of the word BIODIVERSITY we immediately think of a lush forest, populated by a myriad of animal and plant species in perfect balance! But biodiversity is not just this!

Life, thanks to its blind determination, manages to blossom into an infinity of environments, with always surprising results. Deserts, volcanoes, mountains covered by perennial ice, even the most extreme and inhospitable ecosystems, are the home of animals and plants that have adapted there in the name of survival.
On the weekend of 25 and 26 May, Città della Scienza celebrates World Biodiversity Day which falls every year on  May 22,  with many activities and themed workshops: protecting the planet’s biodiversity is convenient for everyone, including humans.
