At Città della Scienza, was held on Monday, May 15, the seminar Startup Chile / Campania: two countries in Startup. Studies and experience in comparison.

A moment of benchmarking, promoted by the Chilean Embassy in Italy and by the Honorary Consulate of Chile in Campania, in collaboration with the Order of Architects of Naples and Province, to make a point on the policies in favor of development of new innovative companies, starting with the experience of Startup Chile.

Startup Chile is a program launched in 2010 by the Chilean government to foster the attraction of the best business talents from around the world. In a few years, the programming platform has turned Chile into a true hi-tech innovation centre.

Maurizio Di Stefano, Chile’s Honorary Consul in Naples and Campania, has highlighted the structural outcomes that the Startup Chile program has achieved, proposing the opportunity to become the platform for a ground of cooperation and partnership with the actors of the territory, starting with Città della Scienza and its ecosystem. Edoardo Cosenza, President of Campania NewSteel, emphasized that Campania is the most “young” region in Italy and boasts many excellence at the academic level, among which Federico II University, an international center that, in partnership with Città della Scienza, promotes the new Campania NewSteel incubator. A center that aims to become the territorial reference, but also on a national and international scale, of the best entrepreneurial brains, able to support entrepreneurial ideas in terms of territorial enhancement and international openness. Mariano Iadanza, Città della Scienza Business Innovation Center executive manager, presented the various operating realities of Città della Scienza. Also took part in the meeting: Adriano Giannola, Vice President Città della Scienza; Pio Crispino, President of APPC Naples; Luigi Vinci, President of the Order of Engineers of Naples; Mariangela Contursi, General Manager of Campania NewSteel; Riccardo De Falco, S.I. Impresa; Attilio Montefusco, PROMOS Research. Two concrete experiences in comparison on startup and enterprise acceleration: Alessia Guarnaccia presented the innovative sme Pandora and Sophia Del Sante presented the activities and strategies that have brought the Start Up Chile program to success.

In conclusion, Rodrigo Olsen, Chilean Embassy Advisor, highlighted that 22 italian entrepreneurs took part at the Startup Chile program, and Valeria Fascione, Councilor for the Startup Internationalization and Innovation, Campania Region, that pointed out the key role of the Campania Region in policies focused on development.
