The International Center for Technological Transfer (CTT) is the BIC area dedicated to management and to exploitation of the all that activities underlying the ” Technology Transfer”: a dedicated platform of specialized services designed to support technology transfer, joint projects, development of business startups and new business opportunities, investments between Italy and the other countries and  enhancement of talent and new professionals.

CTT was founded to support the internationalization activities of research-enterprise system of Italy- China axis, in order to assist researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs interested in undertaking cooperation activities with Chinese partners. In November 2013, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST), the Ministry of Education, Universities and Italian Research (MIUR), the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission (BMSTC), the University of Bergamo, and the Network for the Promotion of Italian University Research (Netval) have signed a framework agreement to set up the China – Italy Technology Transfer Center (CITTC). On October the 27th  2016, during the China – Italy Science, Innovation and Technology Week, the agreement was renewed with the signatures of Città della Scienza and of University of studies of Naples Federico II, who thus entered to be part of CITTC.

In order to promote the interaction between Italian and Chinese organizations, economic synergies and collaborations in the field of scientific and technological research, the main aims of CTT are:

  • to develop a service platform for research centers, universities and companies of both countries, to support the activities of technology transfer; joint research collaboration;
  • business matching;
  • creation and development of new companies (spin-out, start-up, spin-off);
  • to strengthen mutual ability to present opportunities, attract investment and help the internationalization of companies and research centers in both countries;
  • to promote innovative ability of companies from both countries and nurture talents in the field of technological innovation;
  • to constitute an Italo-Chinese platform to support the management and the exploitation of intellectual property rights of the organizations from both countries;
  • to trigger mobility of researchers, students, professors and professionals between the two countries, promoting high-training courses and carriers development.

Beside the cooperation with China, in the near future the CTT will also deal with other international cooperation axes interesting for the activities of the Città della Scienza. With the organization of the first Iran-Italy forum, for example, the CTT will promote dedicated services to support organizations of both countries who wish to explore the possibility of future collaborations in science/technology sector and in the field of innovation. Thus, the CTT aims to be a matching facilitator between supply and demand profiles from various types of organizations such as universities, research centers, start-ups, SMEs, institutions, governments, lenders, banks, etc …

CTT works on specific industrial sectors, identifies as strategic for the activities of the Città della Scienza,  and corresponding to those indicated by the Italian National Research Plan and the Horizon2020 European policies: Aerospace, Agrifood, Blue growth. Clean Tech and Environment, Design and Creative Industries, Education and Training, Energy, Health and Life Sciences, Green Chemistry, Next Generation ICT, Smart Cities and Communities, Smart Industry, Sustainable Mobility and Transport, Innovation Management, Tourism and Cultural Heritage

Italy Match Making is the web platform of Città della Scienza, which promotes and offers CTT services, thank to each user will have the ability to create its own organization profile, to publish projects cooperation, to participate in business matching events and workshops, and to require specialized support for exploitation of research results and innovation, scouting and promotion of new technologies, training and placement of new talents, development of new enterprise.
