Fondazione Idis – Città della Scienza and Consorzio di Bonifica delle Paludi di Napoli e Volla, il CESBIM – Study Center for the Drainage of Southern Italy and the request for patronage to the Campania Region, has signed a three-year agreement with the aim of informing citizens and schools about the importance of the hydraulic and hydrogeological safety of the territory (also useful for combating climate change) for which Consorzio di Bonifica is responsible. The signature was affixed by the President of Città della Scienza, Prof. Riccardo Villari and by the Extraordinary Commissioner Consortium Antonio Pagano.

The current consortium area covers an area of ​​6,550 hectares and affects the territories of 11 municipalities in the Province of Naples (Naples, Casalnuovo di Napoli, Casoria, Cercola, Massa di Somma, Pollena Trocchia, Pomigliano d’Arco, Sant’Anastasia, San Giorgio a Cremano, San Sebastiano al Vesuvio and Volla) promotes and implements the “defense of the soil” as a permanent public activity of conservation, enhancement and protection of the territory, of rational use of water resources for agricultural use and protection of the rural environment .

The collaboration agreement also provides for the design, implementation and monitoring of training and awareness-raising activities on the issues of hydraulic remediation and environmental protection, aimed at population of the consortium area. A three-year Scholarship Award will also be established for schools of all levels and the Città della Scienza represents the ideal communication partner for dialogue with the school world.
