YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS AWARD: PRIZE TRIP TO THE START UP NATION

VIDEO – The spirit of entrepreneurship in Tel Aviv

The Embassy of Israel in Italy and Fondazione Idis-Città della Scienza in collaboration with ASTERS.cons.p.a., the consortium founded in the Emilia-Romagna Region that promotes industrial research, knowledge and technological skills transfer and innovative business creation, and Campania Innovazione s.p.a., the Regional Agency for Research and Innovation  Promotion, launch the Start-Up Nation Prize–Edition 2012. Thanks to this contest two young Italian start-uppers will take part to a training visit in Israel exchanging experience with Israeli start-up in the field of business creation and innovation.

From 14 to 23 October 2012, the contest winners will take part, together with other young European innovators from Norway, Sweden, Great Britain, Denmark, Germany, Holland and Spain, to seminars, DLD conferences and meetings with Israeli entrepreneurs and international organisations that founded R&D Centres in Israel.

During the period they will spend in Israel, they will also visit cultural and historic sites.

The competition is addressed to entrepreneurs, aged between 25 and 35 years old, who set up, in their country of origin, an innovative technologically-based company or working in the ICT field, and that got seed capital from private investors no longer than 36 months ago.

The contest winners will be hosted by the School of Management and Economics of the Tel Aviv Yaffo Academic College, a well known financial & commercial centre, and the main Israeli high-tech centre.

During their stay in Israel, the young entrepreneurs will get experienced of Israeli know-how and will meet representatives of the localc ompanies. Many high-tech companies are based in Tel Aviv, , both little firms in their start up period than large multinational companies. Their growth is due to the city background fostering a business culture. Advanced R&D centres, business incubators and social accelerators for enterprises, working spaces, informal meetings and many other events, let Tel Aviv gather the creative forces of the country. This system is supported by effective financial services and in particular by an informal business culture founded in a dynamic social background.

A Scientific Committee made up of 3 to 5 members appointed by ASTER, Fondazione IDIS Città della Scienza and Campania Innovazione will evaluate the applications.

The eligibility criteria are the following: coherence with the activity field; business innovativeness and originality, activity of internationalization; management organisation; socio-environmental sustainability; management efficiency.

After the training in Israel, the contest winner could present his experience in Naples, at the Smart Lab Incubator, the new business incubator of Città della Scienza to be opened in September, as part of the KiiCS Project, a project aiming at promoting interaction between art, science and new technologies to foster business creation.
