LET’S DO AN EXPERIMENT

In March, Città della Scienza will host a wonderful interactive exhibition on physical phenomena related to our perception; designed for visitors of all ages who want to understand the science behind all the actions of everyday life and who want to understand the way we perceive reality.

There will be 29 interactive exhibits, made to be easily used by anyone and robust to withstand even the most forceful interactions. They range from classic hands-on exhibits, where by operating a crank or pulling a lever, phenomena due to gravity, the decomposition of forces, electrostatics, fluid dynamics, optics and acoustics are verified, to exhibits of pure perception, where the visitor is called upon to tackle problems of logic that have to be solved through concentration and reasoning. There are also exhibits that simulate physical phenomena that regulate atmospheric weather, that show tricks used in film and animation, and that highlight how optical illusions deceive our brains. Finally, exhibits that, while having a solid scientific basis, will allow us to become children again, playing with shadows, enclosing ourselves in a giant soap bubble and even altering the signs of age on our faces!
