Euro-Mediterranean and Middle-East Summer School of Science Communication

Countries of the Euro-Mediterranean and Middle East share the same history and tackle today the same concerns for the development of the region. Many of the economies are characterized by an unequal distribution of wealth, insufficient social and economic reform, limited job creation, weak education and training systems that do not produce the skills needed on the labor market, as well as low level of regional trade integration

There is a need for these countries to re-invigorate their economies and to deliver sustainable and inclusive growth and job creation

Moreover, with the events unfolding in southern countries, Europe is developing further its relations with its neighborhood partners following three main directions: democratic transformation and institution-building; a stronger partnership with the people; and, sustainable and inclusive economic development.

By unifying their efforts, science centers can play an important role in the establishment of a new and innovative Euro-Mediterranean vision.
