CHINA-ITALY INNOVATION WEEK 2019 SIDE EVENT IN JINAN
On 28 and 29 November 2019, the Italian delegation, led by the Minister of Research Lorenzo Fioramonti, moved from Beijing, where the China Italy Innovation Forum was held, to Jinan to participate in a full program of conferences and 1to1 meetings on intelligent manufacturing, sustainable development, medicine and modern agriculture. Jinan has a population of 7 million people and records high growth rates also thanks to policies focused on supporting business related to the S&T and artificial intelligence sectors, so as to favor the name of “software city”. Along with Nanjing and Chengdu, Jinan is the third technology hub in China.
During the Side Event held in Jinan, the “Sino-Italian High Technology Industrial Park” was inaugurated on 28 November by the Italian Minister of Research Lorenzo Fioramonti and the Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zhigang, a centre intended to host companies, startups, spinoffs and Italian companies involved in partnership with Chinese companies and to foster the emergence of new relationships in innovative sectors.
Three cooperation agreements were signed during the visit to the city of Jinan:
- Zhangqiu District and Città della Scienza: cooperation to foster the mutual development of research and innovation within the Sino-Italian Park started in 2017 and is being completed. Città della Scienza will support the District in identifying academic and entrepreneurial subjects interested in starting activities in the district. Zhangqiu District covers an area of 1719 square kilometers with a population of 1.5 million. And it rises in the third Chinese province.
- Shandong Mingshui Guokai Industrial Development and Azimut Sgr: Creation of a Joint Venture for the establishment of a joint fund to support the development of the District.
- Shandong University and University of Calabria: cooperation for exchange of research and technology transfer activities.
