On 27th October, at Città della Scienza in Naples, following the signing ceremony of bilateral agreements between the Governments, there will be the intervention of Mr. Wu Jian Jun, General Manager of 5G R & D Huawei European Research Institute, on the issue “5G, the Road to a Better Connected World”.

The speech will represent a key moment of the Italy-China Science Technology and Innovation Week 2016, since it will provide participants with an analysis on astonishing future sceneries in the field of wireless communication and 5G technologies, also focusing on the importance of R & I investments as a necessary condition for business growth and development, in particular through the commitment of governments to implement international programs to support innovative companies. Mr. Edward Chang, President of Huawei Italy, will also attend the event.

Huawei is a leading global solution provider in Information & Communications Technology (ICT), founded in Shenzhen in 1987.

Over the last twenty years, core business of the Chinese multinational company has gradually focused on the development of ICT infrastructure, thanks to huge investments in research and development (about 9.2 billion dollars in 2015, 37 billion in total over the last ten years) who have enhanced its success at global level: nowadays, Huawei‘s products and solutions are used in over 140 countries, satisfying communications needs of approximately one third of the world population.

Last year financial results of Huawei show a significant growth of the three Business Group of Huawei: Carrier (fixed and mobile networks), Enterprise (complete solutions, products and services for companies and public administration) and Consumer (devices, tablet, smartphone and home device).

In 2015, Huawei has recorded a turnover of 60.8 billion dollars worldwide, an increase of 37% compared to 2014, with a net profit of 5.7 billion dollars (+ 33% compared to 2014).
