The sixth edition of the China (Beijing) International Transfer Convention (ITTC) was held from 15th to 17th November 2016 in Beijing at the Beijing International Convention Centre. The event, promoted by the Chinese Ministry for Science and Technology, an exchange platform that represents the greatest event in the technology transfer field at the international level, as is evident in the numerous attendance of high level representatives coming from all parts of the world.
During the 2016 edition several seminars were held and they all aimed not only at the mutual knowledge exchange, but also at new cooperation opportunities among countries of all the world. In particular, the sectors of this edition are biomedicine, semiconductors, environmental protection, robotics, advanced manufacturing and many more.
At the opening ceremony, to which hundreds of attendees have participated, there were several high level personalities who delivered a speech, such as the Vice Mayor of Beijing Sui Zhenjiang, the Secretary General of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology Xu Jianpei, the Israeli Ambassador in China Matan Vilnai and the Nobel Prize in Physics 2014 Shuji Nakamura.
Following, during the session titled “Belt and Road Initiative Related Countries Cooperation”, Anne-Marie Bruyas, Responsible for the International Relations of Città della Scienza, introduced to numerous Chinese and international delegates the internationalization program of innovative systems in the fields of research and enterprises that is coordinated by Città della Scienza, raising a profound interest in the audience.
On 16 November, Sergio Cavalieri, Pro-Rector on Technology Transfer of the University of Bergamo, delivered a speech in the seminar “Key Regions and Countries International Technology Transfer Project Roadshow and Matchmaking Session” about the role of the China-Italy Technology Transfer Center – located in Bergamo and Naples at Città della Scienza – for small and medium-sized enterprises, highlighting the importance of creating a platform to facilitate the international cooperation between research centers, universities, public institutions and so on.
Moreover, in the session related to the technology macro thematic area, Giovanni Breglio delivered a speech on semiconductors in the seminar entitled “SIC Power Electronic Devices Technology”. Specifically, his speech regarded a presentation of the activities carried out by his department, focusing in particular on devices and systems for power electronics, optoelectronics and telecommunications.
