The Sino-Italian Exchange Event (SIEE – VIII edition) and the China Italy Innovation Forum (CIIF – V edition) are the main cooperation programs in science and technology between Italy and China.

The goal is to create industrial, commercial and scientific partnerships among innovative and hi-tech companies, research centres and scientific institutions.

The program is structured with annual matchmaking events, which take place alternately in Italy and China, along with information services and support the creation of partnerships.

The corollary to these activities are meetings, seminars, workshops and an intensive institutional promotion under the aegis of their respective Governments, in a long term bilateral cooperation program.

The program is organized and managed by Fondazione IDIS – Città della Scienza, on the basis of the Framework Agreement signed in 2013 between the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research – MIUR, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – MAE, the Ministry for Economic Development – MISE, the Italian Trade Agency – ICE, the Italian Agency for e-government – AgID.

The Italian partners are: National Research Council – CNR, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development agency – ENEA, Italian Investment Development Agency – INVITALIA, Energy Services Management – GSE, National Institute of Nuclear Physics, Enterprise Europe Network-EEN, as well as several regional agencies for the promotion of innovation. The Italian partners are: National Research Council – CNR, National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development – ENEA, Italian investment development agency – INVITALIA, Energy Services Management -GSE, National Institute of Nuclear Physics – INFN, Enterprise Europe Network -EEN, National Association of Italian Municipalities – ANCI, as well as several regional agencies for the promotion of innovation.

On the Chinese side, the program is sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology – MOST and organized by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission – BMSTC, and by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology – BAST, which is a member of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology – CAST and organized by the Beijing Science & Technology Consulting Center – BSTCC.
